SHA3 first round candidates announced

December 23, 2008  |  Written by admin  |   Application Security   |   Leave a comment

NIST has announced the first round of candidates for the new SHA3 hashing algorithm.

Nothing too exciting on the site so far but it does list the candidates and provide download links for the algorithms code. It is interesting to see Ron Rivest (MD6) and Bruce Schneier (Skein) are listed as candidates for the first round.

Interesting times ahead!
