I recently posted a blog entry saying that I had become a member of the IIA Web Development group and now we have had our first meeting I have more news for you all.

The other members of the team are:

Eamon Leonard, echolibre (Chair)
John MacDonald,
David Scanlon, Enterprise Ireland
David Rook, Realex Payments
Darragh Curran,
Paul Doherty, Software Design
Martha Rotter, Microsoft
Stewart Curry, X Communications
Richard Bowden, RB Consulting
Ken Stanley, Magenta Three
Joe Drumgoole,

I think that the IIA have amassed a very talented little group of people. I have to admit I was apprehensive about the group, I really didn’t feel like it was going to be something I could help with but I was very happy to be proved wrong. I think that with the amount of talent in the group we should be able to deliver some great work which should benefit both businesses and developers in Ireland.

I think the most encouraging thing so far has been the fact that I feel I can achieve things with this working group that I’m struggling to achieve with other groups I’m involved in.

We brainstormed and came up with a lot of ideas but we want to solicit feedback from the people we aim to help so the IIA have posted a poll for us. We hope to receive a lot of information through this poll which will allow us to deliver what businesses and developers in Ireland require.

For more information on the group creation etc please see the following links:

And last but not least:

The IIA Web Development Working Group Poll.

If you have any questions about the group or our intentions please ask!

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for spreading the word about the new working group and our survey. Our (the IIA’s) main motivation for setting up the group was based on many queries we received from members and other business people. I hope you don’t mind if I take this opportunity to encourage everyone to do our survey. I can’t stress enough how important it is to get a cross section of responses to it so that the group can ensure that their work is based on the realities faced by Irish businesses today.

    Thanks again!
